Santa Breakfast

A couple of Saturdays ago we took the kids to the annual Santa breakfast at the club. Neither one of them really are in to Santa, but I thought this year at least Colton would sit on his lap with a bribe of a candy cane of course. This is how it went down.... Ella was actually the one who wanted to see Santa when we got there and Colton wanted nothing to do with him. When Ella got close to him she changed her mind, waved from a distance, but still got a candy cane for good effort from Santa. When we got back to the table and Colton saw the candy cane his little mind changed and he was ready to go and see Santa. Amazing what a little sugar enticement will do. I was ready for him to not really sit on Santa's lap, but wave from a distance like Ella, but I was proved wrong. He mustard up all of his little courage, walked straight towards him, sat on his lap, and had a full conversation with him about what he wanted for Christmas. I was totally blown away. He completely earned his candy cane.
Since they both didn't sit on Santa's lap I wasn't able to get a picture of them together so I thought a  picture in front of the Christmas tree would be nice. I again was proved wrong. Call it them being in silly moods, or blame it on the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream they had just eaten, but my nice pictures I had envisioned in my head turned into this (these actually make me laugh out loud).
One brief moment of calmness.....

And then back to..... straight silliness.
When we got home the family appeased me and let me capture our family via tripod and self-timer. Love how this one turned out.
